New message addressing the cancellation of the June 7, 2020 North Shore Classic Half & 5k event to our participants
To Our North Shore Classic Half & 5k Participants,
As you are aware, the state of Illinois has issued a “Stay at Home” order and has banned public events for the time being. With the uncertainty of when these events will be allowed to continue, we have made the unfortunate decision to cancel some of our upcoming local series events. These events include the 2020 North Shore Classic Half Marathon and 5k, 2020 Bigfoot Tri/Trail, 2020 Run Mag Mile 10k/5k, and 2020 Bucktown 5k. Because these events are still far enough away, we have not incurred the costs of the goodie bags, medals, city permits, etc, allowing us to refund your registration cost and any other incremental expenditures (packet mailing, beer tickets, etc). We will be following up in an email as soon as we have issued your refund.
As of now, we still plan to continue with the 2020 Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Chicago and North Shore Turkey Trot 10k/5k events, unless there are government directives that we cannot host these. If that is to occur, we will be transferring participants to a virtual option.
In regards to the 2020 Run This Town challenge, we have made the decision to move this year’s Run This Town challenge to 2021, due to the cancellation of many of our events. If you already registered for the 2020 Cinco de Miler and/or the 2020 Soldier Field 10 Mile, we will be counting those events towards next year’s 4 star goal. You will see this reflected in your EnMotive account starting January 1st, 2021.
While we are unbelievably disappointed to have to cancel some of our favorite Chicago events, we hope you will continue to follow us on social and watch your emails for some very exciting NEW virtual events we have coming up, starting in June!
On behalf of the RAM Racing team, we thank you for your understanding and support, and we truly cannot wait to run with you in person again soon. Until then, stay healthy, and continue to lace up those running shoes and stay active.
